In mammals, a total of six iroquois (Irx) genes exist, which are organized into two clusters. Here we report on the organization of all iroquois genes present in fish, using zebrafish (Danio rerio) and pufferfish (Fugu rubripes and Tetraodon nigroviridis) as examples.
