modENCODE The modENCODE project was initiated to study the genomes of D. melanogaster and C. elegans and systematically annotate functional genomic elements of these organisms. The most significant findings of modENCODE were published in 2010 in the following integrative analysis papers: Gerstein MB, Lu ZJ, Van Nostrand EL, et al. Integrative analysis of the Caenorhabditis elegans genome by the modENCODE project [published correction appears in Science. 2011 Jan 7;331(6013):30]. Science. 2010;330(6012):1775-1787. doi:10.1126/science.1196914 (PMID:21177976) modENCODE Consortium, Roy S, Ernst J, et al. Identification of functional elements and regulatory circuits by Drosophila modENCODE. Science. 2010;330(6012):1787-1797. doi:10.1126/science.1198374 (PMID:21177974) Supplemental files from the modENCODE Consortium et al. paper can be downloaded at this link. As of 2023, support to maintain the www.modencode.org and intermine.modencode.org sites have been retired following the end of funding.
